While an employee for William Moorehead & Associates, Eric began his real estate career. As a site manager for 504 residential units and 125,000 square feet of commercial space, he began to hone his skills in budget preparation and monitoring, marketing, leasing, property inspections and HUD compliance. He was soon promoted to property supervisor. As such he was responsible for supervising four site managers and 40 on-site personnel for a portfolio which included two multi-family and two senior citizens developments totaling 928 residential units.
Upon leaving William Moorhead and Associates in 2003, Eric expanded his real estate management areas of expertise to include cooperative management. As site manager for Chatham Park Village Cooperative, he worked closely with the board of directors to maintain the financial and physical stability of the cooperative. While there, he increased rent collection, reduced resident turnover, improved the work order completion rate and breathed life into the curb appeal of the high-profile community. In 2004 he added condominium management to his portfolio at Lieberman Management Services. Again working with the board of directors, he supervised daily operations for a 364 unit South Shore condominium complex which included 20,000 square feet of commercial space and a 250 space garage.
While gaining a wealth of knowledge in the areas of social services, commercial, condominium, cooperative and high-risk multifamily property management, Eric also earned his designation as an Accredited Residential Manager and is a candidate for the Certified Property Manager designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management. Additionally, he is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Illinois, has earned his B.A. degree with a concentration in Finance from Chicago State University and is pursuing a dual Masters degree in Business and Public Administration.
